Why a charter

On Aparté, people meet before they talk. That calls for a little trust on both sides. This charter comes down to a few simple commitments. You accept it at registration and we remind you of it before each date.

Our commitments

Respect. I treat the person I meet with courtesy, whatever the outcome of the date. No hurtful remarks, no judgements about physical appearance, no discrimination.

Punctuality. I confirm my date the day before, I arrive on time and I let the other person know if I am running late. If I cannot come, I cancel as early as possible, and never at the last minute without a serious reason.

Honesty. My photos are recent and look like me. My answers to the questionnaire are sincere. I am free to commit to a date.

Consent. I respect the other person's boundaries, at every moment. A "no", a hesitation or a silence is not a "yes". Each person may leave whenever they wish.

Discretion. I do not share the first name, photos or answers of the person I meet outside Aparté.

Safety. I stay in the public venue planned for the first date. If something is wrong, I report it, and in case of danger I call 112.

If you feel uncomfortable

In many establishments, including our partner venues that have been made aware of the scheme, you can discreetly ask for help at the bar by asking for "Angela" ("Where is Angela?"). The staff will understand that you need help to get out of the situation. [TO BE CONFIRMED: list of venues trained in the scheme.]

In the app, the alert button calls 112 and notifies your trusted contact.

If the charter is not respected

Report it from the app. Every report is read by a member of the team. Depending on the seriousness: a warning, suspension or exclusion, always reasoned and open to challenge.
